The whole nature of employer-employee relationship has changed drastically as a result of COVID-19. Many employees are reconsidering on how they want to work while employers are trying to do their best to give all the support to the employees needs of a diverse workforce. This article identified 10 trends for business organizations that are having issues in a hybrid work setup.

1.     Hybrid work. During the pandemic, most people are working remotely, and productivity has increased. According to the 2020 Global Benefits Attitudes Survey, many people want to return to work in the office for two or three days a week because they feel disconnected from their coworkers and workplace.

2.     New purpose for the workplace. After the pandemic, offices or workplaces have evolved and become more of a function for collaboration for the employees rather than a quiet environment for the employees to work.

3.     Acceleration of digitalization. Because of the pandemic, many organizations have further adapted to the use of virtual collaboration tools like Teams and Zoom, and the use of robotics and artificial intelligence in their respective workplace.

4.     Broader focus on employee wellbeing. It is important for every organization to also focus on the well-being of every employee.

5.     Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The organization must review its policies that might have an impact on employees who could experience unconscious bias in the workplace.

6.     Rethinking performance management. As more businesses have remote setups for their employees, they should study how they can assess and measure their performance while working at home.

7.     New manager model. In a hybrid work setup, managers must focus on ensuring that they are connecting, and collaborating with employees since most of the time the employees are working in their respective homes.

8.     Greater emphasis on ESG and climate change. In the longer run, successful companies will mean that they have embedded ESG in their business strategies and policies.

9.     New talent equation. Because of the new hybrid setup, organizations are now having more choice of talent since the employee will be able to work from their home.

10. Increase attention to culture. Companies will now be more intentional about their cultures.

Since more companies are using hybrid work setups, these 10 trends will help them to solve some of the issues that they are facing.
